Kristin Birt

Kristin is a San Franciscan whose dreams were crushed in 1993 when she discovered she wasn't a human-born mermaid. It wasn't until age 14 that she witnessed the magic of live shows, which ultimately gave her a new lease on life. Kristin convinced her mom to homeschool her so she could spend more time at her favorite local coffee shop, which operated as a music venue at night. One day, bored and avoiding school work, she purchased a Weezer shirt from eBay but received a Canon film camera by mistake. From that point on, Kristin spent her "school" days behind the camera, shooting the bands and musicians who traveled through.

A few years later, Kristin took off and lived around the country and, by 2017, was living in Spain as a DJ and photographer. In 2019, she was visiting her parents in Boise, Idaho, when the pandemic hit and the border closed. Unable to return to Spain and uncertain about the future, she quickly got involved with KRBX Radio Boise as a programmer and started attending local shows.

Aside from shooting bands, managing the website, and working behind the scenes for B-Side, Kristin owns and operates Foggy Notion, a local multi-vendor vintage shop. She hosts an underground 60's & 70's radio show called 'Up In Your Mind Flowers' on Psyched! Radio (San Francisco) and ElectroMagnetic Radio (New York). When she's not working, you can find her lurking around in your local thrift store.
